EVP — Media
How has previous career and/or academic experience prepared you for your work here?
People are always surprised to learn that my degrees are not in marketing or advertising but rather history and political science. What may be even more surprising is how that education has prepared me for my work in digital media. I could write a thesis on this subject—and, in fact, I have!—but I’ll keep it brief here: Both disciplines taught me how to balance the analytical with the intuitive, the qualitative with the quantitative, and the art with the science.
What activities do you pursue outside of the agency?
Watching Bubble Guppies, singing along to the Frozen 2 soundtrack, making chicken nuggets, and arranging furniture in the Barbie Dream House. This makes more sense if you know that I have a 2½-year-old daughter.
What would you be doing if you weren’t in the advertising world?
I actually went to graduate school for political management and wanted to run political campaigns. In a bizarro universe, I also thought I might run for office. Senator LaManna has a nice ring to it.
