One purpose of the NCMEC is to ensure families are prepared in the event of a crisis or disaster that interrupts phone and internet service. We designed and promoted the organization’s Family Emergency Playbook to help families record important contact and personal information, know what to do in medical emergencies, and plan meeting places in the event of communication failures.
