Earning trust in a category that had broken it.

LoadPay, a new digital bank account built specifically for drivers and carriers, entered a market where owner-operators had been overpromised and underpaid for decades. The challenge was not just to launch a product. It was to earn trust in a skeptical, tight-knit community where credibility is everything and traditional advertising raises more doubt than interest.

Lead with the work, not the product.

Drivers and carriers do not respond to financial product marketing that leads with features. They respond to brands that demonstrate genuine respect for the work—the reality of life on the road, the financial uncertainty, and the pride in a profession that keeps the country running.

Motivational signals identified: Hearth, Safety First, Ladder, Free Spirit. Encouraging and warm tones prioritized. Creative strategy built around authentic human storytelling, not product promotion.

Understanding and reaching the right audience.

Rather than developing a traditional celebrity endorsement, we built a storytelling platform around Mike Rowe, a long-time advocate for drivers and skilled trades. We wrapped a tractor-trailer, put Mike on the road, and captured interviews with real owner-operators across the country—introducing LoadPay through the voices of the people it was built for.

Turning the launch into a movement.

The official brand launch was timed to the Walcott Truckers Jamboree at Iowa 80, the world’s largest truck stop. We transformed the booth into a destination—money booth, cornhole, a custom LoadPay parody song, choreographed line dances, and a photo booth with Mike Rowe. The experience was designed to feel celebratory, not transactional.

Interviews captured at the Jamboree became the content backbone of the Summer of LoadPay sweepstakes, featuring weekly giveaways and a Labor Day grand prize. Carrier and owner-operator influencers were activated to extend reach organically within the community.

Scaling performance across channels.

Paid social, paid search, programmatic display, digital out-of-home, Performance Max, RoadDog podcast, email, and landing pages worked in concert to reach drivers and carriers at the right moment. The media mix was built around values-aligned audiences and scaled as performance data informed optimization.
