Ant Q&A: Sam Cooper

AcrobatAnt Creative Director
Bryan Cooper

Meet Sam Cooper, AcrobatAnt manager of content creation.

This roller coaster/theme park fanatic is in his element here, with each day presenting a new adventure in writing, producing, editing, photographing—whatever we ask of him, because he can do it all. And he does it all with enthusiasm.

How would you describe your job?

My job is a zany mix of creating social media content and managing accounts, editing larger video projects, and lending a hand in copywriting and design when I’m needed. Every day is different, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Give us three to five fun facts about you:

  • I used to practice martial arts regularly.
  • I’ve ridden some of the oldest roller coasters in the world.
  • I’ve written ten novels.
  • I was once on a flight to LA with John Cena.
  • A giant desert centipede made me break my ankle.

What inspires you?

At work, I’m inspired by storytelling. When I see a particularly good piece of advertising or entertainment, I get fired up about the projects I’m working on. Showing a progression, a cycle, or a change in values is the most interesting way to communicate any piece of information.

What activities do you pursue outside of the agency?

When my butt isn’t at my desk, it’s usually on a roller coaster. I love theme parks more than anything else, and I’ve traveled all over the U.S. to ride some of the country’s wildest coasters. I’m an avid photographer of theme parks and run an Instagram account dedicated to coaster content. Currently, I’m saving for a trip to Europe. The parks overseas take themed experiences to the next level, and I need to be there immediately.

What would you be doing if you weren’t in the advertising world?

If I wasn’t in the advertising world, I’d be working at Silver Dollar City. That was my dream as a child, and it’s my future retirement job.
